Prof. Amany El-Sharif is a distinguished academic leader and global health advocate, currently serving as Vice President of the Pan African University under the African Union and Regional Director of the Association of African Universities’ North Africa Office (AAU NARO). A trusted advisor to the World Health Organization (WHO), she plays key roles in several influential organizations, including the Circle of Global Businesswomen, the International Alliance of Patients’ Organizations (IAPO), the African Medicines Agency Treaty Alliance (AMATA), the Center of American African Researchs (CAARs), and the National Committee of “Women in Science” under Egypt’s ASRT.

She coordinates vital initiatives such as the WHO’s Antimicrobial Resistance Awareness Campaign, the Egypt–Sub-Saharan Africa Medical Mobility Program, and the Egypt Knowledge Bank at Al-Azhar University. A consultant and quality assurance expert, Prof. El-Sharif is a HAQAA Ambassador and has contributed to major projects with UNESCO/Shenzhen, the ACPE, and Al-Azhar University’s Higher Committee of Strategic Planning.

Previously, she served as Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy at Al-Azhar University and Director of the Training Sector at Egypt’s National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education (NAQAAE). She also leads innovation as Director of ROWAQ Cairo Incubator (INTILAC Project, ASRT-funded) and is Chief Editor of the Azhar International Journal of Pharmaceutical and Medical Sciences (AJPMS). A DAAD alumna, she is a graduate of the Unilead Program at Oldenburg University, Germany.
