Introduction

The Africa Education Trust Fund (AETF) is excited to announce the upcoming Artificial Intelligence (AI) Conference, which will be hosted in Accra, Ghana, in November 2025. The conference is poised to be a landmark event focused on exploring the role of AI in addressing some of Africa’s most pressing challenges while also unlocking its immense potential for growth in education, innovation, and sustainable development.

This event will bring together experts, innovators, policymakers, educators, and thought leaders from across Africa and around the world to share knowledge, insights, and collaborative opportunities in the field of AI. Through this conference, AETF seeks to foster a multi-stakeholder platform for dialogue on how AI can be harnessed to shape Africa’s future—building bridges between the educational sector, government policy, the private sector, and emerging AI practitioners.

Objectives:


The primary objectives of this conference are to:

  1. Explore the Impact of AI on Education:
Delve into how AI can transform the education system in Africa by improving learning outcomes, fostering access to education, and promoting inclusivity. The session will explore AI applications like personalized learning, virtual classrooms, and digital skills development.
  2. Address Key Sectors:
Investigate how AI can contribute to Africa’s economic, social, and environmental development in sectors such as agriculture, healthcare, infrastructure, and governance. Emphasis will be placed on how these sectors can harness AI to overcome the continent’s unique challenges and create new opportunities.
  3. Foster AI Innovation and Youth Empowerment:
Build capacity by empowering young people in Africa with the skills and opportunities to participate in and lead the AI revolution. Sessions will focus on encouraging youth innovation through AI-focused education and mentorship, as well as fostering entrepreneurial initiatives.
